Is it possible to swap the x and y axis?
with the KLD-LCD1260 the x axis is 1440 and the y axis 2560.
I would rather have the bigger size in the x direction. that is how it is in the machine and all the previews would fit better on the monitor.

As I know you should not experience any issue with larger X than Y.
You could change HDMI output rotation by editing config.txt file on raspberry pi
